With fresh air against the spread of viruses in school, office and living space
The German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) confirms: correct ventilation can significantly reduce the risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2. But what does "correct" mean? In a statement on the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 indoors, the Indoor Air Hygiene Commission (IRK) recommends "the highest possible supply of fresh air". When ventilating via windows, this is best achieved by regular cross-ventilation, therefore by opening windows that are as far apart as possible from each other for several minutes. During physical activity, such as school sports, this should be carried out at least five times per hour. When there are many people in the room, e.g. visitors, the IRK recommends permanent ventilation during the entire duration of the visit. If coughing in the room, ventilation should also be provided immediately an das a matter of principle. According to the IRK the wearing of a mouth-nose-mask is only effective if an adequate air exchange is provided at the same time. Furthermore, it is emphasised that "adequate" in the current situation means that the indoor air quality should be close to that of the outdoor air by supplying a high amount of fresh air. Simply tilting the windows, even if this is done permanently, is not sufficient.
More safety with Helios KWL
In view of the high requirements, classic window ventilation very quickly reaches its limits here and is difficult to realize in everyday life. In addition, other negative influences such as street noise and pollutants enter the buildings through the open windows. The risk of burglary also increases when windows in school, commercial and residential buildings are open all day and unobserved.
The required air exchange can be ensured completely automatically and also much more efficiently with controlled ventilation. In this way, Helios KWL systems provide continuous, demand-oriented ventilation and thus ensure a constant supply of fresh air - whether in the home, school or business premises. Integrated filter systems also ensure that harmful external influences such as pollen and dust do not enter the interior. This is not only good for your health, but also increases your sence of well-being and reduces energy costs thanks to heat recovery.
